Corowa Aquatic Centre launches Learn to Swim Summer Intensive Program

Young swimmers will have a chance to further grow their skills and confidence in the water with a new Learn to Swim Summer Intensive Program set to commence at the Corowa Aquatic Centre this Summer.

Federation Council has announced the launch of its Learn to Swim Summer Intensive Program which will see classes offered across two, one week blocks.

Students will participate in lessons each day, for five days - Monday to Friday in January 2022. 

  • Block 1: Monday 10th January - Friday 14th January, 2022.
  • Block 2: Monday 17th January - Friday 21st January, 2022.

The program is designed to support young swimmers in the following enrolment categories:

  • Crayfish: Our Crayfish class commences the journey of learning strokes for your child.
  • Platypus: Our Platypus class sees the introduction of bilateral breathing while swimming freestyle.
  • Turtle: Our Turtle class is suitable for children 4+ years of age.
  • Silver Perch: Our Silver Perch class is the first level that sees children swim the full length of the pool.
  • Murray Cod: Our Murray Cod class is all about more advanced stroke correction.

Federation Council’s Duty Officer of Public Pools, Jo Laws said it was fantastic to build on the highly successful Learn to Swim Program, currently run throughout the school term and welcomes over 350 students to the Centre each week.

"We cannot wait to start the summer intensive program to provide students with the opportunity to further grow their skills and confidence in the water,” she said.

“Teaching your child or yourself to swim is one of the most important decisions you will make in life and our Corowa Aquatic Centre team is committed to promoting fun and enjoyment of all things water for swimmers of all abilities. We are really looking forward to hosting the program.”

The program will be $100 for members of the Corowa Aquatic Centre and $120.00 for non-members.

Enrolments for the Learn to Swim Summer Intensive Program are now open, and parents are encouraged to complete the online enrolment form, or alternatively, attend the Corowa Aquatic Centre to complete a paper based form. Find our opening times.

Following the enrolment lodgment, a team member of the Corowa Aquatic Centre will be in contact with individual families to arrange class allocation.
