Young swimmers will have a chance to further grow their skills and confidence in the water with the Intensive Learn to Swim Program set to commence at the Corowa Aquatic Centre during July 2024.

Federation Council has announced the launch of its Learn to Swim Intensive Program which will see classes offered across one week, Monday 8 - Friday 12 July, 2024. A second week may be made available depending on registrations for the first week.

Students will participate in daily lessons each day for five days - Monday to Friday.

The program is designed to support young swimmers in the following enrolment categories:

  • Crayfish: Our Crayfish class commences the journey of learning strokes for your child.
  • Platypus: Our Platypus class sees the introduction of bilateral breathing while swimming freestyle.
  • Turtle: Our Turtle class is suitable for children 4+ years of age.
  • Silver Perch: Our Silver Perch class is the first level that sees children swim the full length of the pool.
  • Red Fin: Our Redfin class continues the journey of learning strokes and introduces bilateral breathing

  • Yellow Belly: Our Yellow Belly class is for advanced infants and pre-schoolers aged 2.5 - 4 years.

Federation Council’s Duty Officer of Public Pools, Jo Laws said, we cannot wait to start the intensive program to provide students with the opportunity to further grow their skills and confidence in the water.

“Teaching your child to swim is one of the most important decisions you will make in life and our Corowa Aquatic Centre team is committed to promoting fun and enjoyment of all things water for swimmers of all abilities. We are really looking forward to hosting the program.”

The program will be $75 for members of the Corowa Aquatic Centre and $90.00 for non-members.

Enrolments for the Learn to Swim Intensive Program are now open, and parents are encouraged to complete the online enrolment form from the Corowa Aquatic Centre website. Following the enrolment lodgment, a team member of the Corowa Aquatic Centre will be in contact with individual families to arrange class allocation.
